First, you need to understand that factories produce jewelry in bulk. Under normal circumstances, they won’t accept single-piece custom orders unless you can afford the sampling fee, but that would be too costly and not worth it. Alternatively, you can opt for small workshops that offer custom services.
To produce one piece of jewelry, a jewelry factory must first create a 3D design, then produce molds based on the design. After the molds are ready, sampling begins, which takes 5-7 days. Raw materials also need to be purchased, with a total cost of approximately 1,000 yuan. However, the sampling fee typically ranges from 300 to 500 yuan. Once the bulk order is placed, the factory refunds the sampling fee to the client. Therefore, sampling alone is actually a loss-making process.
